i headed up to ej this morning on the urging of cam to attend the school anzac day service. i wasn’t so keen to go as my “to do” list was rather long, but he really wanted me to watch him sing in the choir. so i did as any good mother does and i went…and i was so glad i did. the service, as with all anzac services, was moving. it was so lovely to hear all those sweet voices sing “heal the world”.

this afternoon was a slight variation on our usual friday routine, but we still ended up with most of the usual crowd here. and, i managed to venture over to the park WITHOUT my camera. oh i felt so naked!

tonight we went out for some sushi lovin’ at the windsor train – louise & i, and a bunch of feral children -where did they come from?? notice to anyone with a sushi train restaurant – don’t put hello panda’s on the train…

the kids went back to school today – although we all could have done with the rest of the week off. i am so not ready for school lunches again.

i ended up having a very nice, very social day. my friend katie came over this morning. katie is as passionate about videography as i am about photography. it was lovely to have some stimulating creative discussion & we both left with lots of new ideas to ponder. (and she now has me addicted to twitter). we are both super busy with lots of family, work & study commitments between us – but we hope to get together soon to collaborate on something new, fun and creative!

then on to lutwyche for a coffee with louise. i tell you, that girl is wicked. guess that’s why i like her so much! thankfully our jovial, over the top exuberance goes completely unnoticed at lutty – we just blend in with all the other nutters.

last week, i got a text from robert asking me to lunch today to “celebrate the kids going back to school”. of course i readily accepted, and today we enjoyed a delicious yum cha feast in chainatown. it was not until we were dropping teggo home after lunch that a vague reference was made to it being robert’s birthday. i had absolutely no idea…some great friend i am. so typical of robert though –always drawing attention to others, never himself. happy birthday my friend. thank you for making my journey a better one.

well almost…
they did skate this morning
but not this afternoon
cos there seems to be an issue with the last sunday arvo of the school holidays.
last hols manny broke his arm late on the last sun arvo
and
the hols before that zach broke his arm late on the last sun arvo
so
we decided to play it safe.
zach had a late afternoon afl game
so we watched the game instead.

over the past few weeks we have been through some crazy, messy, awful stuff with hockey selection trials. thankfully the injustice was noticed and after much heartache was rectified. georgia’s play in this morning’s game was vindication. the team won 5 – nil, with georgia scoring 3 of the goals. well done george!

continuing the sporting theme, cam played his first afl game of the season today too. he is sooo excited to be playing again, and his enthusiasm and commitment was a joy to watch.

 

as well as snapping lots of sporting action, i captured some off field action too.
