zach’s back and the welcome squad were there to greet him with signs and all!
he had an absolutely fantastic time and came home with so many great stories to tell.
i can’t believe how much they crammed into the 9 days. he is totally exhausted.
it’s so lovely to have him home again.

recently the australian ran a feature on the 20 best australian songs from the past 20 years. it got me thinking about which songs would make it onto my list. it really is an impossible dilemma because my list would change constantly depending on my mood and surroundings at any given moment. so right here and now, these are the songs that would make it (and i think i have stretched the 20 year rule just a bit with some of these choices)…in no particular order…

ah today has been very restful.
we had a lovely quiet day at home.
it doesn’t happen very often at all that i can go an entire day without having to get in the car to go somewhere…it’s now 3.10pm…so far so good…fingers crossed
managed to catch up on updating project365, though i should have been watching uni lectures instead (priorities?)

cam always loves the day between his birthday and georgia’s because it means he is ‘2 years’ older than her. but today georgia caught that year up again, and it’s back to 12 months and 2 days between them.
to celebrate her birthday, georgia had some friends here for the day. we went to the movies and saw “journey to the centre of the earth”. everyone loved it. the girls have ridden their bikes, done their nails, danced, done handstands, and constantly straightened each other’s hair for the rest of the day.
tonight we had friends over for dinner, a massive indian feast from sitar. yummo.

went to t.v.r. for dinner again tonight. that’s my second time in as many weeks. i swear they put some kind of addictive additive into their salt and pepper squid. it’s sooo good.
i was out with a group from work. dinner was lovely and afterward some of us went to a nearby pub to continue on…it ended up being a HUGE night. sometime during the night i took this pic of teggo and i on my phone (the kids keep telling me how weird we both look)

i could regale you with so many teggo stories, all told with affection and lotsa laughs. he has been a big part of my life for almost 20 years and i treasure our friendship. hands down he is my all time favourite ‘raging’ partner. oh man can we bust a move on the dance floor.

teggo said something profound about hiccups on the way home in the taxi and at the time i thought to myself that will be my photo of the day title, but of course i cannot remember what he said (wonder why?)

zach has been texting every day. he has been having a blast and today went skiing. yesterday he flew in a helicopter over a glacier, then landed on the side of a mountain for a snow fight.

song “sweet child of mine” guns and roses. there was karaoke happening in the pub we were in, and while we did NOT partake, we certainly sang and danced along…this song was a crowd pleaser.

cam hit double digits today! he always gets so excited about birthdays and christmas and is really appreciative of all the special things he receives. everything this year was skateboard related!
he had a day long birthday party – i took him and 5 mates on a skate park crawl over the other side of town. they skated non stop all day and absolutely loved it. the boys were lots of fun to be around, i love their sense of humour, and listeneing to their chit chat is fun! they did drive me a wee bit crazy though with their constant ‘kiwi’ accents. they had been watching some kiwi clip on youtube so everything was based around that… “i’m beached bro, oh nooooo”. the other thing that really struck me was how supportive they were of each other. they  are very persistent at  trying to master new skateboarding moves, and when one of them lands a new trick, the others are thrilled and rush to congratulate them.

then it was home for a birthday dinner with friends.

song “shake it” metro station. someone on youtube has done a parody of this song and called it “bake it”. all the boys knew the words and when shake it came on the car radio they sang along substituting the bake it lyrics.

my gorgeous hashi lou lou recently reacquainted me with a daggy, but nevertheless beautiful song called “show me heaven”. it has the most gorgeous line in it… ‘you’ve such amazing grace’. just a little addictive and at times i have driven myself crazy singing that very line over and over in my head.
but more than that we have really pondered over the man she could actually be singing that lyric about. we both agreed we have known, admired and loved many wonderful men throughout our lives but ‘grace’ is probably not really a word we would use to describe any of them. and would it actually be a good quality for a man to have or is it a more feminine trait?
